The scientific cooperation with trade union institutions has taken new and innovative forms with the development of the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration Human Resources and Law as a cooperation between the Steinbeis Business Academy (SBA) and the Academy of Labour. Together, we developed a unique program across Germany and Europe. The SBA is currently the largest school of the Steinbeis University Berlin (SHB) with many years of experience in the development and conception of part-time Bachelor- and Master programs. As part of the cooperation, the SBA is responsible, among other things, for the accreditation, the preparation of the study regulations as well as the examination system.
Since the founding of the Academy of Labor, there has been a constructive and trustful cooperation with the DGB Rechtsschutz. An integral part of the education and training of the DGB Rechtsschutz are specific seminars organized and implemented by the Academy of Labour. Seminars include executive education, soft skills seminars or seminars on trade union history. The seminars are specially tailored to the needs of the specialists and executives of the DGB Rechtsschutz. An annual highlight is our seminar "European Labor Law", which includes an excursion to the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg.
The IG Metall has contributed significantly to the foundation of the Academy of Labour and the further development of the Europäische Akademie der Arbeit. Through a non-profit subsidiary, the Academy of Labour was founded in 2015 by the IG Metall. The IG Metall works closely together with the Academy of Labour in the further development of their educational offer. Experts from the IG Metall have been consulted to coordinate the contents of our certificate course in Participation Management.
